We are students. Some future cancer specialists. Some future researchers.

Cancer affected my family early on in my life, and I saw the heartache it brought to my loved ones. I've made it a mission over the last decade to learn, fight against, and knock out cancer. There is so much we still don't know but there is also a lot that we do know.

My mission in life is to spread awareness to all those willing to listen. I believe we can continue to advance in the fight--and I hope to spend the rest of my life doing so.

“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.”

A hopeful future

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, located within Harvard University, has treaded the water in the fight against cancer by examining the genes that lie dormant until activated and become cancerous.

Perhaps locating these genes in youth at a young age and repairing DNA may be one of the key practices moving forward that help us in this fight. These are preventative measures and would help solve the problem before it occurs.
